Eynsham Parish Council

Recycle for Eynsham

It isn't easy being green ... Towards the end of 2011, West Oxfordshire District Council approached the Parish Council with a pilot scheme to reduce litter and increase recycling rates. “New on-street containers with separate slots for plastic bottles, cans and paper could be trialled near current litter bins with a high footfall; then if successful we would remove the current litter bin”.

The first Eynsham container, shown here, was sited near the exit to Bartholomew School in Back Lane. Running time 1:51 minutes.

Unfortunately this container is taking up too much of the pavement and causing difficulty for pedestrians with pushchairs. The Parish Council has asked for it be moved to one of the sites originally suggested: Oxford Road Play Area, outside the Sports Hall entrance or outside the Spar.
