Above: Best Enclosed Front Garden 2010

A biennial event, encouraging neighbours and business to take a pride in the village and setting the tone for the biennial Open Gardens weekend. Every house and business in Eynsham was inspected from 11-15 June 2011, with final judging on 18-19 June (results below).

all house fronts are assessed, however smallAll gardens and house fronts are assessed, however large or small, so long as the judge can see the garden without having to open a gate or door. The various categories follow:

  • Enclosed front garden - where a garden has 2 or more fenced, hedged or walled boundaries
  • Open plan front garden
  • House front - where the house is directly onto a path or road
  • Business.

The slideshow now includes random images for 2011, as well as the winners for 2010 and a sample from the weeks leading up to the 2009 awards. As ever, the judges' selection may differ.
